Chemical Structure & Activity

AMB-FUBINACA is a synthetic cannabinoid and is structurally similar to other synthetic cannabinoids in its class such as AB-FUBINACA. Technically, it’s a methyl ester of AB-FUBINACA and the terminal amide group of the valine is replaced with that of the methyl ester.

Structure-Activity & Chemical Similarity Predictions

Based on the know profile biding affinity and general profiling of similar compounds, it would be safe to assume that AMB-FUBINACA can act as a potent agonist at the CB1 receptor subgroup. There is one piece of research which does confirm the above claim of affinity at the CB1 receptor group.

Discovery

Most of the available literature does not date back as long as it may be expected. The majority of the studies are from 2015 onwards. With possibly, the first publication being in January 2015 when Cayman Chemical first identified the substance and created an analytical standard for purchase.

History

As with many of these novel synthetic cannabinoids, there happen to be a variety of synonymous available online. With AMB-FUBINCA also being referred to as MMB-FUBINACA and FUB-AMB. AMB-FUBICA was officially banned in the state of Louisiana through an emergency rule as it was detected in products named as “train Wreck 2” and was subsequently related to several adverse events in 2014.
